"Crossed" - /ENDING!/ - Chapter 35-54

Yeeeaaah, I really managed to finish the book on time! Proud of myself. ^^ Last post for now, I will continue with the third and last book as soon as I find the motivation to. Or exactly three days before that book is due in about two months … I won't answer the questions like I did for the last book because the answers would be almost the same since it's the same series … and because I think nobody from my class did that anyway. Anyway: Last post – enjoy! Summary : Next goal for the group: Find the Rising! The problem: Ky doesn't want to join them because he doesn't trust them and believes, that they are no better than the Society. When Ky tries to burn a map they found, that should lead them to the Rising, Cassia comes there right in time to safe the map. Of course she is angry, confused and other bad, melodramatic emotions that would fit to the situation. But however, they have to get going, before it's too late. The next morning the gr...

"Crossed" - THEY ARE SO SWEET I THINK I'M GETTING DIABETES -.- - Chapter 17-34

There are about 70 pages left by now ... I'm well on schedule for a change! 1, or maybe 2 posts left ... depends on how much happens in the last chapters. Summary: After walking around in the canyon like for forever, Cassia and Ky finally find each other! Purely coincidental!  ((Well, just to let you know, a few hours before Vick (Ky's friend) died because the Society poisoned the river... but that's irrelevant right now.)) What counts is, that Cassia and Ky are now all lovey-dovey and can't keep their hands off each other for longer than five minutes. Really, the two of them act so corny at times, that I think i got to throw up! Eli and Indie must be annoyed too... Whatever, their relationship will be ignored from now on. What counts is, now that they have found each other, their next goal is to find the Rising! Back, when Ky was at the abandoned village, he saw one single house lighted at night, but didn't dare to come closer. Now they decide to go...

"Crossed" - Walking through ze mountains! - Chapter 6-16

Bild
Summary : Ky : He wants to run away to get closer to Cassia and takes his chance one night during a firing. Since he used to live near that village during his childhood, his father once told him what to do in such a case. He takes his friend Vick and a young boy named Eli with him and escapes to the Carving (that's some kind of a huge mountain range). After some days they stumble across an empty town. It seems like the people who lived there haven't been gone for long... Cassia : When she opens the piece of paper she received, she finds a story that indicates that there is a organisation somewhere, that rebels against the society. The next morning Officials arrive at the work camp and take all the aberrations away, to the villages in the war zone. Cassia sees her chance to get closer to Ky and pretends to be an aberration and goes with them. They are transported to a village near the one where Ky was, few days before. She meets a boy who knew Ky and who tells her ...

"Crossed" - IT CONTINUES Ô.Ô - Chapter 1-5

Bild
Now that I have finished the first book, our teacher told us to read another book. Well... which one should I take ... UUUHHHM ... ow, I guess I'll just continue the series since I downloaded all three books at once! Good idea. Ok, let's do this sh**. Well, the date we had to hand this in was ....... yesterday. I started a few hours ago. Uhhh, I'm on schedule as always! Luckily our teacher gave us some more time and I'll finish this until Friday! (....probably) Prof. Fiechtl is a merciful god! Whatever, I'll just continue the blog and the summary of the story where the last book stopped. Means I will not explain things again that I already wrote before ... if your memory is so bad you can't remember, your bad. Summary : Well, I've already read like 50 pages but to be honest, nothing much happened until now. What is different from the first book is, that it alternates between Cassia's and Ky's point of few. Cassia is at a work camp at the mom...

"Matched" - Final thoughts and questions or something like that

To finish the book I am now going to answer the questions we got from our teacher. Think about what you have learned from the book/what you did not know before.     I didn't know the poem from Thomas Dylan that is often quoted in the book! And the book motivates me to wonder myself and question some things about our own society. But you don't really "learn" anything when reading the book ... it's after all fiction and not a physics textbook. Discuss your favourite/least favourite character.   My favorite character, at least at the end of the book was Cassia, the main character herself. She goes through the biggest changes and turns from someone swimming with the flow to a rebellious girl, that sees what is wrong with the society and knows what she wants. There is not really a character in specific I dislike. It is the entire society and all the Officials who are the bad ones in the story. I mean, if they didn't exist there would be no problems. Or even ...

"Matched" - Chapter 26 - 32 (END!)

Second post today! Damn, I'm good! (No, actually I'm just lazy as hell and do everything on the day I have to hand it in, but whatever...) I just want to mention that these are the last few chapters, so if you plan to read the book yourself, I wouldn't read that summary down there (spoilers!) Summary : In the last few chapters the plot reaches its climax. Cassia will soon be assigned for her vocation, that's why she is asked to sort some workers as a test. She is taken to a fabric hall and gets the task to sort the workers after efficienty in two groups: The ones who are better will get a better occupation than the hard, exhausting work they do at the moment and the weaker people will stay there. But to Cassias horror Ky is amongst the workers she has to sort. She completes the task like she's told, but in the end there is one person left. Ky. He is right in the middle of her list. She knows, that he will probably have a better life when she sorts him in the b...

"Matched" - Chapter 8-25

I haven't updated this blog for a long time now, which was partly because I thought I had missed the due date, and partly because I was waiting for something important to happen in the book. But that wasn't really the case. So I will now just sum up 17 chapters at once ... excuse me if I forget to mention some things. ^^ Summary : The last thing that happened was, that Cassias grandfather died and gave her that piece of paper from the compact. She first doesn't dare to open and look at it. This year she has signed up for hiking as her summer activity because her grandfather used to love hiking. The hikers are lead to a small hill, which they have to hike each person for himself and by the time Cassia is alone out in the woods she finally takes a look at the paper. It is a poem, that tells her to "not go gentle". It's not one of the 100 poems allowed by the society and she knows, that she has to destroy the poem. But while reading, she hears something move ...
