"Reached" - The beginning of the end Ô.Ô - Chapter 1-8
I'm finally going to
finish this series! YEEEAH. I'm SO excited to finally see how it
ends!! No, just kidding, I already know that the third book will
probably be the worst one. But let's do this anyway! I'll continue
with the summary right where I stopped, I hope I mentioned
everything that's important now in one of previous blogs....
Summary:
This time the book is
written from three different perspectives, Cassia, Ky and Xander, so
it won't be easy to properly describe what's going on exactly, but
I'll try.
Cassia has been sent to
Central by the Rising to work as a sorter and has been told to wait
until she gets a 'special' task to do. One day she receives a message
from Ky telling her to meet him at a lake, late at night. When she's
about to leave her apartment, an Official appears and tells her to
come with him to her workplace. Cassia immediately knows that this is
the opportunity the Rising was talking about and sorts everything
wrong. Unfortunately the Society makes her take a red pill afterward
and she forgets what she has done.
Xander is working as a
medic in another Province and that evening he is called to see a
patient that suffers from a strange illness, that makes him unable to
move and remain in a sleep-like state. Xander immediately knows that
this is the illness the Rising told him about before. This illness,
called the plague, has been used by the Society to destroy their
enemy, but now it is spreading quickly within the Society, although
some people are immune to it. The Rising now springs in action and
the Pilot, who is actually the chief pilot of the Rising, speaks and
provides a cure. Xander heads to the city hall, where loads of ill
people are brought to, and joins the Rising´s people, that have
already gathered there to give out the cure.
Ky is in another Province
training as a pilot for the Rising. One day he gets assigned to a
mission in Central, where he plans to meet Cassia. But this won't
happen, because that evening everyone in the trainings camp gets
ordered on a different mission: to bring the cure that cures the
plague to different cities. Ky is paired up with Indie for this task
and would actually prefer to meet up with Cassia, but he has no other
choice. The Pilot speaks to them for the first time while they are
flying to another city.
In the meantime, Cassia
waits for Ky at the lake, which had been poisoned some time before.
As she realizes that Ky won't come, she steps in the lake to get a
box with almost all of her poems in it, that she stored there before,
only to see that the box is empty. Someone stole her poems. When she
returns home, she sees over a display, that the Rising has happened.
As she watches the masses of ill people in the city hall and hears
the voice of the pilot, she's not sure if she's happy about it and
doesn't know what to do next.
Thoughts:
Wow, there has been a lot
of stuff happening during the first 70 pages! Up to now the story was
pretty exciting, but I expect, that there will be a period of like
150 pages in the middle of the book with absolutely nothing
happening, again. Well, let's see.
